Sundown is really one of the hardest, but most rewarding moments to take your photos. It is not even that hard to make an impressive shot with interesting colours in the sky. However, especially when the sky is not your primary subject, it also requires a lot of skill to get the right exposure and composition.

In this case, the exposure might actually not be so bad. The silhouette shows nicely against the impressive sky without too much movement blur. The composition on the other hand seems a bit like a lost chance. There is for example the distracting pole on the side and the way that the swing carousel seems to dissolve into the sky doesn't quite hit the spot.

When shooting a photo like this, you'll have to make a number of choices in the split second that's your 'decisive moment'. Or preferably think of them before. Some of these choices you picked well here, like the silhouettes and exposure for the sky. As for the composition, a closer look at the people swinging may have given these choices the extra kick this photo needs to become more then a promising snapshot. And very promising it is, so good luck at the next fair
